During the month of October 2007, and 2009 Step of Faith Ministries shopped for all the makings of a pancake breakfast and delivered 27 sacks of the groceries and milk to a Columbia neighborhood. The members had great testimonies from the experience.
Young Saints Academy Our Youth Department has grown by leaps and bounds. They experience a lot of love and encouragement and will often lead their parents to get involved. The sacrifice and the seeds planted are taking root, exhibited by the young people now taking initiative to be at every service, to write their own songs, choreograph their own praise dances and develop their own devotionals! Praise God! The young people are so excited by what God is doing that they are bringing other young people as well as their parents. Kids Page
Twice yearly Step of Faith is on the roster to minister at the Robert L. Perry Juvenile Justice Center. Each Rotation lasts a month and is held on Sunday evenings. We are also purchasing Bibles for the facility. Teenagers ministered to there are very grateful and hate to see us leave. It is very fulfilling and you know you have made a difference in the life of some young person!
The Local Battered Women’s Shelter has benefited from our overages, whether from banquets, fellowships, Valentines day Gifts, Christmas Gifts or Mother’s Day flowers we gladly deliver what can bring a smile and encouragement to these ladies to let them know God still loves and cares for them and that he has not forgotten them.
We also write letters and send boxes to our friends in Africa. Pastor Stephen is doing a great work educating 40 plus children. The children love to receive our letters and we love to send them candy as well. We've also sent chalk, a dry erase board and flash cards.
Pastoral Care is very much a part of our mission and vision as Pastor and Sister Thornton make personal Hospital visits to comfort and pray for members of the church family, their families and friends in efforts to nourish the spiritual portion as well as pray for the physical portion.
